Spoka​ne Public Schools​​ is helping students excel by:  
  • Collaborating closely with area businesses in the search for Mentors
  • Tracking Mentor volunteer hours
  • Establishing a Mentor model in which each school has at least one assigned Mentor but can draw from the entire pool as training needs dictate
  • Infusing leadership and teamwork skills for students as well as cybersecurity training
  • Recognizing the value of CyberPatriot as possible career path for students
  • Growing from a single team in CP-II to 8 teams in CP-IV to 12 teams in CP-V
  • Bringing in a computer forensics expert from Washington State to train students on the finer points of forensics investigation
  • Hosting an annual summer cybersecurity camp for AFJROTC students
  • Expanding the program beyond the district to other high schools
  • Hiring CyberPatriot Competitors as summer interns in the District’s Instructional Technology Support Center
  • ​Being recognized by Washington State’s US Congressional Delegation for cybersecurity efforts​
